What is the quest in "Araby" story? Does he succeed?

The boy in "Araby" story was in love with these girl. He thought of her all the time but he had never speak to her. One evening she spoke to him he didn’t know what to answer. She ask him if he was going to Araby were she wanted to go but she couldn’t . He told her that he will bring something for her. These is the quest he had to do but he didn’t succeed. H e didn’t succeed because when he get there the stalls of the bazaar were close except one and he didn’t bught anything when he had the opportunity.
